We took a party of eight people to this restaurant last night and had an absolutely outstanding experience in every way! The food was fresh and delicious, cooked beautifully and included tableside preparation of our Peking duck and mushu pork for our guests. We ordered probably 15 different dishes and enjoyed them all thoroughly. And the service was excellent as well: very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend this place!

My new Chinese comfort food spot! Would come here every time I will have dimsum cravings, specifically hakao (steamed crystal shrimp)! It was so plump. I should have ordered another round. I will just come back. Other food we ordered were the wonton soup, the salted egg yolk custard buns, the chicken and broccoli, and the red bean paste shortcake (dessert). The soup was a good start. The buns were really good too. Not too salty, and it had just the right balance of "sweet and salty!" The chicken and broccoli came with one cup of rice, which was enough for me and my husband. The sauce was not as sweet as I expected, which was good! It wasn't overwhelming. We ended with dessert, the red bean paste shortcake. It was served warm/hot, a yummy end to the meal! I made a review on another platform, but this place was so good, I have to share as much as possible!

We had a great meal here! The wait staff seemed to be very invested in ensuring that our experience was exceptional. We started with soup dumplings, which were tasty, but not really hot enough. Next were delicious Dan Dan noodles. Perfect spice. The crispy shrimp and scallops were delicious, we preferred the shrimp to the scallops. Finally, duck egg rolls, fabulous. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Great service and great food. We did not wait, but it was early on a cold Saturday. They made a gluten free broccoli and chicken for me.

Tri Dim West is a decent Chinese restaurant in the Upper West Side, serving up a wide variety of Shanghainese, Cantonese, Szechuan dishes. Peking duck and crab meat and pork xiao long bao were the standout dishes. Although we were the only Chinese on the night we visited, we were pleasantly surprised by the authenticity of their food. The dining experience was accessible for non-Chinese as they kindly provided chopsticks, forks and food clips. Service was attentive--the server replaced our dropped chopsticks with a new pair, without us even having to ask. The environment is tranquil and spacious compared to other traditional Chinese spots I've been. Perfect for dates and groups (yes, we went there on a date night, and the other customers were mainly couples). *Shredded Crispy Duck (Half) 手撕鴨 $33 *** I am not really fond of peking duck, but their meat wasn't too fatty which was spot-on for me. We ordered half and it was the perfect portion for two. *Crab Meat and Pork Soup Dumpling 蟹粉小籠包 $13 *** While for the xlb, I could actually see and taste the crab meat. The thin wrapper barely held together the rich filling inside. As I took a bite, a burst of rich meat broth spilled out. *Rice Cake w. Pork and Pickled Cabbage 雪菜豬肉年糕 $16 ** Shanghai stir-fried rice cake was solid. It absorbed the slightly sweet and salty glaze and contrasted well with pickled cabbage. *Szechuan Dan Dan Noodle 四川擔擔麵 $15 The chili oil in the dan dan noodle was flavourful yet we wished it could be spicier. *Scallion Pancake 蔥油餅 $9 *Shanghai Bean Curd Puff 上海烤麩 $11 *Jelly Fish w. Scallion Sauce 蔥油海蜇 $12 The starters we got were delicious. I was amazed by the scallion pancakes as I've tried many underwhelming ones in NYC. Theirs was crunchy with a chewy interior.

Such an authentic spot for the UES - happy to see so many table filled up on a Tuesday night! They have a happy hour from 3-6 that we sadly couldn't make but will def be back to try! My friend and I both loved the crab and pork soup dumplings - thin dumpling skin and hearty meat cooked to perfection. This might be my second favorite, and I've never enjoyed the crab version before this. It's not too fishy tasting. ($13) The pea shoots are another classic and were very tasty and well sautéed ($22) must get! My last favorite was the sautéed beef thick noodles. Really bouncy noodles and the beef was tender. ($17) Other honorable mentions include the braised pork - amazing portion and tender pork with bok choy in the dish too! ($34) Honestly such a gem on the UWS and very decent portions for the price. Amazing service as well!

Some delicious surprises: The beansprouts with chives was super fresh & succulent braised duck had a lovely light sweetish flavour that worked. The sweet & sour ribs are yummy bite sized chucks. Great crisp batter and wrapped in gorgeous tangy sticky sauce. Pity about bone to meat ration but hight recommended. Disappointments? Have had better Peashoots -- very bland despite the garlic. It was very wet / stewed & chewy. I would have. Nice but personally would have preferred garlic a bit crisper or some chillis / something to bring out the flavours and maybe younger pea shoots? Not tender. Not recommending? The curry Singapore Noodles were average. Not recommending. Large chunky chopped onions & spring onion. Salty egg chunks. Weirdly sweet curry flavour. Decent amount of shrimp. Minuscule bits of diced char sui pork, thickly julienned carrots and overly dry slivers of beef. It was easily worst item ordered (shame as one of my favourite comfort foods). Would have benefited from some beansprouts/ bamboo shoots & less onions -- or a bit of oil? It was super super dry.

I visited the restaurant with my parents looking for a quick bite to eat and we were all craving Chinese food. I hadn't had good Dim Sum in a while and I was craving dumplings. I ordered shrimp dumplings, a pork bun, a Diet Coke, and a build-your-own bowl where you can choose the vegetables, protein, and sauce that you want. I chose shrimp, sprouts, baby corn, mushrooms, and snow peas with my sauce on the side that I took home later. The food was really good, and my cravings were satisfied. I loved the pork bun in particular because the flavor of the sauce combined with the juicy pork in the center of a delicious bun really made my afternoon. The only reason why I knocked one star off of my review is that they told us they couldn't seat us in the back where we could have more space because "they were doing some work on the back part of the restaurant" which we understood, but later saw them seating other customers. It didn't make any sense to us. Although the seating arrangements could have been more comfortable, the quality of the food and service really made up for it. Our food came quickly, our bill came quickly, and our orders were taken in good time. Given the success of our meal, I would say that I would gladly come to eat here again.

Doing a fun trip to UWS President's weekend. Wanted to start with some dim sum for a takeout lunch before our museum adventures. Our favorite was the Peking Crispy Duck Roll. Red cooked short ribs a treat but a bit expensive for four relatively small ribs. Other dishes quite reasonable. Enjoyed the Hong Kong Shumai. I was so so on the Steamed Pork Bun. Good sauces, rice, and side of spinach. Phoned in order and all ready as promised. Interior of restaurant pleasant. We haven't had dim sum for a long time, and overall this was tasty with many different textures.
